Therese Procter joined Tesco Stores in 1986, progressing through a number of operational roles both in the UK and internationally. She leads an HR team responsible for supporting the culturally diverse retailing services division of Tesco - the company's fastest growing area which includes Tesco.com, Tesco Bank, Tesco Telecoms, and the data analytics firm, Dunnhumby.
Achievements at Tesco include the integration of company values into the organisation's new and expanding business areas; delivering the vision and values leadership programme; effectively implementing strategic talent management into these businesses; helping managers achieve record levels of employee engagement; and supporting ongoing and emerging business-development activities. Procter has a particular interest in creating an inclusive and integrated workplace, which is supported by her active involvement through talent planning in women's leadership development and supporting women's networks in other organisations.
Procter is a fellow of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development, and for the past three years has been included by HR magazine on its list of the most influential HR directors in the UK. In 2010, she was recognised as HR director of the year at the HR Network National Awards.
