HR Most Influential 2011: Longlist

Many people ask how we get to the names on the ranking for HR Most Influential. The process starts with the creation of a longlist, following nominations from HR magazine readers, HR magazine’s editorial team and other experts. To develop the shortlist, an advisory panel featuring Mike Haffenden, co-founder of the Corporate Research Forum, members of Ashridge Business School and HR magazine editor Siân Harrington mark this longlist on various criteria, including contribution to the business, contribution to HR function within the business, contribution to HR outside the business, personal profile, success of the business and complexity of the job.

Below we list the HR practitioners and thinkers that were on the original longlist but didn't quite make it to the shortlist in 2011. Some were bubbling just underneath, others would have made it onto the ranking had it not been for the fact they were moving roles or jumping from an HR practitioner role into the supply side. All display the characteristics expected from people on the HR Most Influential list and no doubt many will feature on the main ranking yet again in the future.
